Currently, parts of the Upper Peninsula are under a Winter Storm Warning again. One location that got 21.5" of snow on the weekend just got another 8" of new snow.
Right now, we're getting a rain shower and it's just under 60F. Our next chance for snow in the mix is tonight, Wednesday and Thursday. The meteorologist at the NWS Spotter Training last night said the weather is going to break after the cool down this mid-week.

We were about ready to schedule a flight to our Melbourne Beach home, but then I have several hundred tomatoes that need TLC for the next couple of weeks. Forecast is for two more days of cold and then we jump right into summer.

I have experienced "thundersnow" (2 times this year already) but wonder if there has ever been a "Snownado"? I'm not sure about a "Snownado." I'll have to ask my brother to see if he ever heard of one. A little while ago tonight, I see Lehigh, Kansas had a Severe Thunderstorm Watch at the same time they were under a Winter Weather Advisory. Strange days, indeed. Monday night my brother and I attended Skywarn Weather Spotter training put on by the National Weather Service. We took our first session back in 1994. After the presentation, we chatted with the meteorologist. I asked him about having a tornado when there's snow on the ground and he said "No." With snow on the ground there wouldn't be the warm air rising to keep feeding the storm the energy it needs. As my brother and I were leaving the building, my brother said he had found a video of a tornado over snow...

Around midnight, we're at the freezing mark with a bright Full Pink Moon lighting up the landscape. We had some rain in the last 24 hours and the ground is soggy. I last saw snow flurries at 4a on the 24th.
Next week we should be warmed up to a couple days in the 70s. I'll believe it when I see it.

Love the Brevard County Zoo. We took the grandkids there a while back. They all got a kick out of being inside the birdcages.

At the vineyard: 1 1/2" rain this week; upper 50's, mid 30's. No freeze this week.
Corpus Christi: cool, clear, sunny. Nice, but very dry. No rain all spring. The continuing drought now carries criminal charges for folks watering when not scheduled for their location. (outdoor watering allowed every two weeks on a rotating basis) Those found guilty will have a permanent criminal record!

Found out today how to make it rain. After several days of overcast with occasional sun breaking through, I made it start thundering within the hour. Just imasculate some tomato blossoms!

Paulf, just love that photo of your granddaughter!
What is this strange liquid falling from the sky? Rain? Is that right? Yes, it is rain! And it is supposed to continue for 24 hours. Nice gentle rain, keep coming. It's 57' outside and a light drizzle.

Spring finally got here today! Had 70F at my place and even warmer in Mom's back yard; 74F. I put the rain gauge out in the garden and the screen on the storm door. Had a fan in the window to get some fresh air until smoke was coming in. Opened the foundation of the house.
I was out for a walk at dark and could feel the solar heat given off by the old bank building. Before midnight, it's still 50F out and I'm looking forward to this warm weather sticking around.

Glad you got your rain Izit and glad you got your warmth Strat. Hope spring'll decide to come to you right after the snow Paul.
Still been an odd start to the year...

Well TDD, I thank you kindly for the sending the rain my way. Sure did send quite a bit. You could float a sailboat in the front yards of some of my neighbors..... Two inches so far and another two on the way tonight. Mustn't forget to water the garden tomorrow, well maybe Friday......

You're very welcome Izit. Had to move it on, as we have standing water still in a lot of places from Saturday night. Still several days of potential rain still to go here.
Beginning to think a snorkel might be a wise investment for many of us this year. And just a few hours down the road is Corpus that Izzy was talking about under severe drought. Weird.

4.5 inches at the garden and 4 inches at the house over Sunday and today. More rain on the way everyday this week. Guess I won't have to water for a while.

Awoke to a rainstorm this morning and heard one clap of thunder. The power went off-and-on three times. The sun came out in the afternoon and we got up over 70F. I got out for 5km of walks and it was great.
Tonight, at midnight, we're at a balmy 59F. I'll take it!

We had an unexpected high today of 86F. Wow! I got outside. I was out for a walk after 9p and it was still 73F.
Currently, the western end of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan is under a Winter Storm Warning/Flood Warning. The Bessemer area that received 29.5" of snow in the last couple weeks could get another 12"! I no longer wish to live in the UP.
Before midnight we're 63F and are expecting 75F tomorrow. I'll be outside.

Our weather is just gonna be weird. Probably a 50° difference in about 12 hours. Possible snow tomorrow. Actually I am thrilled. Because of lingering cold all the trees started to release pollen at once. It's been really tough the past three days. When I am outside it feels like I am breathing in gravel. I cannot wait for the cold and rain/snow to come and wipe out all the pollen. Yes its not good that I had to bring seedlings in (and probably keep in till at least Monday) but I'd rather just be able to breathe! Looks like stratcat is gonna get bit too

ya'll stay safe and warm! Our forecast is for cool wet weather as well, highs in the upper 60's low 70's and lows in the 50's thanks to this front. it's been great not having to turn the AC on yet. It's usually on by March 15th.

Front's making its way through here. Winds currently around 15-20 mph, but that's supposed to intensify later 25-30 with gusts of 40mph. Advisory is supposed to last until 4 ayem. Wind is bringing a chill with it. Supposed to go to 45F tonight. Then high of mid 60's manana and back down to 45 Friday night. Then back to 70'sF with upper 50's as lows.
Depending on the weather service, temps may be a couple degrees warmer.

The Bessemer area that received 29.5" of snow in the last couple weeks could get another 12"! I no longer wish to live in the UP. As of 9p Thursday night, good old Bessemer in the UP got another 13" of new snow! 42.5" in the last two weeks. I'm sure we didn't get that much snow all winter here, nor the previous winter! We had 81F Thursday, and at midnight, we're still at 62F. We're expecting 71F on Friday. I see Peppereater out in Oklahoma is under a Freeze Warning. Sheesh! Cover those plants.

I could not ask for a nicer day - especially in May! Normally this time of year the heat would be setting in, but that last front brought us highs in the 70s, lows in the 50s, and now that the rain is gone, we have blue skies, white puffy clouds, and a nice breeze. I spent a few hours outside earlier - I am about to go back outside soon to enjoy some more of this weather, because the sauna conditions will arrive all too soon.

From a low of 40F on Monday, we had a nice sunny day with temps in the hi-7O's. Currently, we're at 46.5F at 2a.
We're expecting a cool down over the next week. Sunday, we may only get up to 51F with a low that night of 36F. I surely thought the heating season was over...
