Thanks for the hopes and prayers folks. It paid off. Been raining for about 20 minutes now. Looks like it may hang around awhile too. Going back to watch it. Amazing how something so basic can lift the spirits and captivate the attention.

Ditto that Blulace! Was praying for rain the other night for good ole Tx. Yeah God! ;D God's sent more than enough to Michigan and Ontario. It's about time he shared what he's given us with AL, MS & TX

Raining in La., too! FINALLY! We are in the 'extremist" drought conditions. Almost 3 inches in 2 days! And it's still raining! Yesterday evening I just went outside and walked around in it!

Raining again this morning!!! Sun came out yesterday afternoon and everything was getting beat back down by the rays. It was like being in a sauna. This morning everything is reaching for the sky. I have to get out there and put some more lines on the Florida weaves. I believe everything grew at least 6 inches overnight.

Glad you got some rain Gcg! Blue, I really, really hope ya'll get a break and can dry out some.
Sun is back with a vengeance today. Ground has enough moisture to at least carry through until tomorrow. Then will have to assess.

After sending it south, can ya nudge it a little west too? Had to water again yesterday. Should have done it the day before, as I lost a couple of squash sprouts to heat. Watering as I type. Forecast is Thursday there may be a "stray thunderstorm". Doesn't exactly get me exited to hear that terminology.

lets see I think it got up to 85* not much wind , had to put a gallon of ice in the truck for the dog , you know it gets hot fast in a truck when it is 85* and there is no shade .............Altho there was a slight chance of rain but no clouds in site, and it is supposed to be in the 90's tomorrow ... Ohhhh still a lot of stuff to do in the yard and garden!!

We had 93 and it is very dry.Not as bad as in the south but we do need some rain.Sylvania Ohio is on water restrictions right now. They said it has been so warm and folks are using so much water that the system can't keep up.

Hot and dry here also.
The city instituted a recorded telephone notification system about a year back. We've gotten something like 4 phone calls in the last few days.
NO FIREWORKS this year. Police and Fire Depts. will be patrolling for this and gave a number to call and report people shooting off fireworks.
City has never enforced or done anything remotely like this campaign in my memory.

It's been almost 100 and HUMID, with big lovely monsoon clouds hovering just out of reach. I wish we'd get some of that rain. But rain is unlikely till January usually.

It's 72F at 2.37a at Mom's. I can hear frogs croaking like crazy at the neighbor's pond. Saw a couple Fireflies. I'm surprised the mosquitoes didn't nail me.
Stuff is still growing...

Hottest weekend of the year. 106F/37C forecast for today. Are you serious? Holy cow. The last time I had to live thru temps. over a 100F. I was pregnant. I do not care to repeat such suffering. Yesterday was "only" 86 F. here, sun beaming down on me & family while we spent hours picking strawbs.

About 80F here. Just had a major storm come thru this morn. Sideways rain, hail. Trees & power lines down all over the place. Our neighbor lost 2 BIG trees. When the one came down, it lifted the sidewalk up vertical. No one on our block is hurt that I know of. Lots of sirens were going off though. No power at our house since this morning. We'll see what happens. No damage to our place other than the flag mount got ripped off the front of our house. We didn't get to it in time. Was just looking at generators online at Harbor Freight the other night too.

Glad you're OK, nofeargardener! Those storms went quite to the south of our area. We haven't had sirens in my city for over a decade. No worries! We have 86F today and humid after .2" rain this morning.

Glad ya'll are OK Nofear.
I am amazed at how Ma Nature has really beaten up Michigan this year. It almost seems weekly at least one person on the forums from there is getting a wicked storm.
Hope you get power back soon.
Guess I'd rather stick with the drought conditions.
