Sorry to hear of the destruction to the northern states We have been just the opposite Temps in the 90s everyday since May 15 and no rain We finally got a good rain today and it is predicted a 60 pecent chance every day for the rest of the week. Hopefully we can salvage something from the garden

Thanks for the good thoughts everyone. I really appreciate that! All is well here. Power is back on. The news cameras have been all over the place - especially at my neighbor's house. My buddy down the street was in an office trailer at work which got picked up and turned over. He's fine. Just a little bruised (thank you Lord!). Now it's pretty much just clean up time. Lot's of trucks and chainsaws working hard around here. ;D

Well, we did get a gentle rain for maybe an hour yesterday. Next couple days are sunshine then a week of "isolated" and "scattered" thunderstorms. Maybe we'll actually get some more moisture before it's over. 81F at 4:35AM and 79% humidity. "Feels like" 86F. Roughly mid 90's/mid 70's forecast. Maybe will get some more tomato fruit set. Maybe.

Wow KCTomato, that's quite a heat index you have there. 14F is a bit more spread from actual than we usually get. What's your humidity typically like? We actually have some of that wet stuff falling from the sky right now. We did have maybe an hour of gentle rain a few days ago, and the garden responded, although it wasn't enough to make a big change. Today's is also gentle, but it's been going for at least an hour and for the first time in a VERY long time the sky is completely overcast with clouds that look like they could keep it up most of the day. Temp is reasonable today, so I may well get some fruit set out of this. Happy, happy, joy, joy!

It's 91F at Mom's backyard, so I'm in for awhile. We need rain and have chances at some on Sunday and Monday.

Finally got our rain in the last hour. It's 69F (20.5C) out with a few sprinkles after midnight. Overfilled my empty 58 gallon (220 liter) rain barrel made from a plastic Diet Coke container. Hi, Catgrass. Your weather is much too hot for me!

Had a good heavy shower this morning and another lighter one this afternoon. You can actually tell when it starts raining if you are near an A/C vent. The cold air out of the vent will suddenly get colder. Lol. Grass needs mowing again.

At 11.19p we have 73F with high humidity here at Mom's place. Insects are singing and I just heard a bullfrog croaking at the neighbor's pond. We had a trace of rain today and should get some accumulation tonight and tomorrow if we're lucky. So tired of carrying water.

If it's not as hot as Hades, it's raining "thunderstorms" if it keeps this up I'll never get the fall crop in...

These past couple mornings, when I step outside in the mornings, it is so muggy and hot (before daylight), that my glasses instantly whiteout. Funny, it doesn't feel the way I imagined a blizzard would feel.
