Daughter says to me this morning that fall is in the air, I said what gives you that idea, she says the leaves are changing colors, I said yep, they are dying from all this heat and no rain...

Mid 70's @ wake up this morning-nice little EAST breeze blowing. Low humidity-I like when a storm is in the gulf going EAST! We will probably see very little rain from this, but eastern La/Miss. & Alabama are going to get rain-DANG IT!

Had a WHOPPER of a thunderstorm last night partly cloudy today and supposed to get to around 90F. Chance of showers all weekend. I don't mind though. I kind of like cloudy days. I suppose it's due to my English blood. Have a great day everyone! ;D

We're under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch and we broke 90F (33C) today. The moisture is just hanging in the air. I'm mostly staying indoors. On Monday night, we're slated to get down to 39F (3.9C)! Ugh.

After 9p, it was still 78F (25.5C) and humid. I sat out in my drive on my pickle pail in the dark and played bottleneck guitar accompanied by the Cricket and Cicada Symphony. As for Monday night, the weather service has bumped the low temp up to 44F (6.7C). This is great as I have so much more growing to do.

Fairly heavy wind. Some plants have been snapped and some fruit knocked off of other stuff. Wind is supposed to continue through tomorrow. No rain, but some dark clouds coming through, so may get something yet.

Today we had high humidity and 8OF. Severe thunderstorms blew though my county and luckily missed my gardens. At the end of the day, I sat out in the dark with my guitar and even had a lightning bug join in! It's 7OF at 11.04p. Stuff is still growing and I have a long ways to go.

Well maybe this rain wasn't a good thing... As my daughter was coming home from work she hydroplaned and rolled her truck, we spent a few hours in the ER and she is ok, just banged up a bit and a few scratches!

We've had a haze from the fires in Bastrop blanketing our area. Yesterday was miserable - 106*; tonite we will set a record low at 64*. Still no rain, although the north side got a quarter inch a few weeks ago. Happy to hear your daughter is ok.

Southern Oregon, hard to believe it's the first day of 100 and that was the average for Rogue Valley. I heard it only got to 98 here today (Grants Pass). Usually we have two weeks in August continuous 100+, guess our weather is changing.

Today, the 12th, we had mid-8O's with high humidity. At 1am, it's still 7O out. Gardens are still growing. Looks like Thursday and Friday nights we'll have frost in the area. I'll be out grousing while picking, moving containers and covering plants with sheets and blankets. Ugh!

Today was still warm with the smell of smoke from a wildfire way up in the Arrowhead of Minnesota blowing through. I was outside a fair amount today until 8p and my eyes are still pinching and my nose and sinuses are acting up. That's a very long way for the smoke to travel. Here's a satellite photo from two day's ago showing the smoke starting from just south of Canada, blowing across Lake Superior into the western end of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Two day's later, it's here on the east side of the Lower Peninsula.

Last night was the cold one. I was out picking, carrying, and covering plants for over four hours. I finished up by flashlight just before 10p.
Though there was frost around, my exposed plants at Mom's and my place didn't get hit. Got down to 34F(1C).
Today it's 61F(16C) and I'm still enjoying being outside in short pants. ;D
